It is a traditional dark beer of high fermentation. The term 'double' refers historically to double the amount of ingredients. Hertog Jan Double trial with all your senses, allowing you to make the most of color, smell and taste. First you pour it into a glass and admire the foam and the beautiful reddish brown color. Then you smell the full soft flavor. You take a sip and taste the rich malty character.

Tripel


The term 'triple' refers historically to the gravity of the beer and the triple amount of ingredients. Breweries gave in earlier times the beer with the highest alcohol content called triple it to distinguish it from the other beers. It is beautiful blond in color and malty flavor to sweet, with a soft bitterness and a range of fruit flavors. The secondary fermentation in the bottle gives a fresher and richer flavor and aroma.

Grand Prestige

It is our crown jewel, the pride of the Hertog Jan brewery in Arcen. You can compare this special beer with a nice wine store it once a while and see what happens with the taste. Grand Prestige is also called "barley wine", because the ripe, full flavor and high alcohol percentage of 10.0%. It is made from water, barley malt, wheat starch, sugar and hops and has a wonderfully creamy and compact head.
